Five Years in Development
Revolutionary Implant
Restores Canines Ears
KANSAS CITY. Mo (Oct. 25) - It may be a Doberman Pincher, Boxer, Great Dane
or German Shepherd. Or, it can include any canine whose ear or ears should stand up
straight but doesn't for one reason or another.
Enter Gregg Miller, president of CTI Corporation -creator of Neuticles for Pets-and 2005
IG Nobel Peace Prize winner for Medicine.
Miller announced today the release of PermaStay Ear Implants for canines with broken ears.
Considered revolutionary by the pet industry, the space age implant- five years in development-
is now available Worldwide.
“For decades attempts have been made by many to successfully create a product that restores
a dog’s ear but have failed and have failed miserably”, said Miller. “These products have included
wires, rods and sticks which not only rejected once implanted but was inhumane to the pet, visibly
detectable and for short term use.”
Miller said PermsStay is not only humane to the pet but is virtually undetectable once placed and
will last for the life of the pet.
Crafted with FDA medically approved surgical mesh, the implant consists of a 3” x 4” foundation.
The mesh was specially created to be compatible with the sensitive tissue within the pets ear and
to eliminate risk of migration of the implant within the ear once placed.
In the center of the mesh foundation is a specially designed “spine” which is made of FDA medically
approved fluroplastic. The spine, which measures nearly four inches in length and is ľ” wide, was
painstakingly developed to not create trauma inside the ear once placed. It features polished rounded
edges and sides with 19 micro holes strategically placed throughout the spine.
A second layer of a softer surgical mesh is then sonic welded atop the spine which not only eliminates
risk of inner ear trauma but allows for tissue growth which adds even greater ear support over a short
period of time.
A Worldwide referral database is now being established by Miller’s 15 year old company. Distribution
of PermaStay is limited to veterinarians with an expertise with ear cropping's to assure procedural success.
Miller said there are currently 14 participating facilities in the US and one in Germany, Australia, Spain and
Poland.
Miller projects 1000 participating veterinary clinics and hospitals Worldwide for the procedure within two
years.
While the manufacturing process of patent pending PermaStay is complex, Miller said it is well worth the
effort as clinical testing and commercially implanted pets have been restored perfectly with no complications
or side effects of any type.
“It’s absolutely amazing,” Miller said. “Once the ear is fully healed you can bend the ear and it snaps right
back into place naturally. Its truly remarkable and the best part is the canine doesn't even know it’s there”.

CTI Corporation, creators of patented Neuticles for Pets, is delighted to announce that revolutionary PermaStay® Ear Implantation is now available.
PermaStay® Ear Implantation is designed utilizing a FDA Medically approved micro thin surgical mesh foundation. The
foundation mesh measures 3" x 4"
In the center of the foundation is a specially designed fluoroplastic spine which lends primary support to the ear. A single overlay of the mesh material is sonic welded over the spine which allows tissue growth and eliminates risk of trauma.
PermaStay® Ear Implantation is humane, ultra lightweight and undetectable once placed.
PermaStay® Ear Implantation is designed for the life of the pet without worry or need of replacement. The pets ear can be bent once implanted and will snap back naturally.

PermaStay® Ear Implantation
Ear Implantation For Canines (Patent Pending)
Success of PermaStay for broken ears is dependent upon several factors. The skill and expertise with ears by the veterinarian are of importance. Secondly, post operative care and caution must be employed by the pets owner as directed by the veterinarian. It is suggested that the canine be evaluated frequently by the veterinarian to assure procedural post operative success.
Once the site of the break has been established it is important to preplan the shape of PermaStay. That is, to predetermine the size to which the implant is to be modified in order to fit the ear which will be implanted allowing ample foundation mesh surrounding the spine to provide added support.
PermaStay is provided sterile by the manufacturer. Sterile technique is absolutely essential.
PermaStay is crafted from three parts:
A) Surgical Mesh Foundation
The surgical mesh foundation is designed to provide support for the
spine once implanted as the FDA medically approved material will allow
tissue growth through the mesh.
B) Fluroplastic Spine
The Fluroplastic spine is crafted to provide optimum support and tissue
growth. The spine is carefully made with rounded edges and corners as
to not create inner ear trauma once implanted. Multiple holes are strategically
placed to allow tissue growth which will aid in ear support.
C) Surgical Mesh Overlay
The Surgical Mesh Overlay is sonic welded atop the Fluroplastic spine to
provide support, eliminate risk of potential trauma from the spine and to
allow tissue growth which will provide added support.
The following steps should be employed for PermaStay placement.
- Prepare the ear for sterile surgery. Place a cotton ball in the deeper
ear canal to stop fluids from entering the ear canal.
- On the inner ear area of the ear leather (glabrous surface toward
the tragus) open the skin with an appropriate incision that will
allow PermaStay placement.
- Position PermaStay over the weakened or defective area in the Auricular
Cartilage. Pre determine the exact size and shape of the implant depending
upon the size and location of the weakened or defective portion of the cartilage
- PermaStay may be positioned on either the concave or convex surface
of the auricular cartilage, and can be used to support both an axial or
transverse defect.
- Closure with a buried subcuticular suture is recommended preferably
2-0 or 3-0 braided Dexon with a reverse edge cutting needle. If the
surgical site is extensive, non absorbable through and through sutures
will off set the potential for aural hematoma. The ear should be in the
standing position as the ear is closed
- Post operative care should proceed as directed by the surgeon
